Innovations in the world of technology and software, especially artificial intelligence, offer exciting and stimulating opportunities for librarianship. Accordingly, the General Directorate of Libraries and Publications of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has shaped its library services policy on the basis of maximizing the use of current technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, machine learning, the Internet of Things and robotic automation in access to and use of information.
Within this approach, “2nd International Library and Technology Festival” 04-06 April 2025 between the dates “Producing Libraries” at Istanbul Rami Library will be organized with the main theme. Rami Library, one of the largest libraries in Istanbul, serving approximately 3 million users annually, will host this prestigious event.
“Producing library” The concept goes beyond the traditional understanding of libraries as places that not only provide access to information, but also support the social, cultural, academic and professional development of individuals.” dynamic production centers is an approach that aims to turn libraries into reading centers. In addition to promoting reading culture, producing libraries offer individuals the opportunity to experience and produce. As 21st century skills, they organize workshops and trainings in areas such as technology, artificial intelligence, software, design, robotics and entrepreneurship. Provides specialized information resources for specific sectors through specialized libraries. Encourages individuals to engage in artistic and cultural production through events and workshops on art, literature and handicrafts. By supporting innovation and entrepreneurship processes, libraries become centers of idea and project development. The productive library approach also aims to transform the architectural structure of libraries to provide a holistic system that incorporates lifelong learning, technology and production infrastructures in addition to the information infrastructure, enabling individuals to become not only consumers of information but also producers of information and content.
The International Library and Technology Festival is a platform where technological developments and innovations in connection with all types of libraries, information centers, documentation centers and archives are introduced interactively, technology-based products and services that can be directly or indirectly related to librarianship are exhibited, and an academic, technological and practical cooperation environment based on knowledge and experience sharing is offered. The festival brings together producers of technology and artificial intelligence-based services in the field of librarianship, product developers, entrepreneurs, academics, librarianship professionals, relevant institutions and organizations, and thousands of young library users. The festival includes a library and technology fair where producers, librarianship institutions and organizations and readers will meet; technology, artificial intelligence, software, coding, design and robotics workshops; conferences and panels with inspiring names of the sector; presentations and demos of the world's leading technology giants; career and internship simulations; augmented reality and gamification studios; concerts, art performances and competitions.
This series of events aims to create an ecosystem that brings the world of technology and the library sector closer together and offers new opportunities for collaboration. To this end, artificial intelligence and technological solutions that make library services more effective, accessible and user-friendly are explored, and innovative services are introduced to the library ecosystem. In addition, technology manufacturers and professionals are encouraged to embrace the library sector as a strategic partner, while academic and professional collaborations in the fields of information and document management and computer sciences are strengthened. A socio-cultural environment that allows representatives from different sectors to share knowledge and experience is created, and the development and promotion of high-tech products in the fields of libraries and information access is supported.

Transportation by Minibus: You can reach our library by using the minibus lines A-27 and A-74. Our visitors who will provide transportation by minibus should get off at Rami Kisla Street or Talimhane Street stop.
Transportation by Tram: With the T4 Topkapi-Miscid-i Selam Tram Line, you can get to our library by getting off at the Rami stop.
It is also possible to provide access to the library with your private car. You can park your car in the paid parking lot of Eyup Municipality with a capacity of 500 vehicles.
